Artist Statement

Spirituality for me is mostly about finding balance between myself and the world.  The best way for me to find this balance is to surround myself with things that allow me to feel tranquil and fortunate.  Probably the greatest task for me, as an artist, is to also create imagery that reflects that sense of serenity that keeps me balanced.  I find that shooting with a pinhole camera or Holga (toy camera) allows me to not only simplify my subject matter, but capture the emotional impact and true unseen energy of the world around me.
